Mick Schumacher is still looking for a seat in Formula 1. The German has been linked with a seat at Alpine. However, his former team boss at Haas, Günther Steiner, tells Welt.de that he expects it to be difficult for Schumacher.

Schumacher to Alpine?

After the 2022 season, Schumacher no longer had a seat. At Haas, he was replaced by Nico Hulkenberg. Since then, the son of racing legend Michael Schumacher has been a reserve driver at Mercedes. He also drives on behalf of Alpine in the WEC.
There were rumours during the Spa-Francorchamps 6-hour race weekend that the German was in the picture for Alpine's Formula 1 team. GPblog asked Schumacher whether it was a possibility that he would be passed on to the F1 team, to which Schumacher replied that he was keeping an eye on the situation but could say no more about it.

Steiner expects difficulties for Schumacher's return

When Steiner was asked if he thinks there is a future for Schumacher in Formula 1, he replied, "That will be difficult. He will not have many options because he has not driven in Formula 1 for two years."
The former Haas team boss continued: "But you shouldn't rule it out either. Who would have thought Nico Hulkenberg would become a regular driver again after a three-year absence? He is even going to Audi now. Who would have thought Fernando Alonso would be so convincing after his break? Who would have thought Lewis Hamilton would ever leave Mercedes. Anything is possible in Formula 1."
