Spa Francorchamps, host of the Belgian Grand Prix, have announced that they have renewed their contract up until 2021, as the local government has seen the economic impact the race has on the entire region.
Minister of Finances, Pierre-Yves Jeholet, is said to have reached an agreement with Liberty Media.
"It's a new era because of the new negotiation with Liberty Media," the Belgian told L'Echo.
According to Jeholet, the Grand Prix caused an increase in local revenue of around 20,5 million euro's, which is about a 21% increase.
Many experts think that the rise of Max Verstappen has a big part in the circuit making a lot of revenue, as thousands of Dutch fans travel to their neighbouring country every year to see their golden boy in action.
