The penalty review! At the Japanese Grand Prix, the FIA handed out penalties again. This time, it was Sergio Perez. He was fined by the race organisation for multiple offences. He sees his total rising but does not have to worry much for now.
Sergio Perez was awarded four penalty points at Suzuka. Two for overtaking a driver under the safety car and two points for colliding with Kevin Magnussen.
Logan Sargeant was also penalised. The American received two penalty points after knocking Valtteri Bottas out of the race.
Seven penalty points
The Red Bull driver now leads the list along with Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll. Both men currently have seven penalty points. If a driver has 12 penalty points, he is not allowed to compete at the next Grand Prix. Lance Stroll has more to worry about in that respect than Perez. On October 3rd, two of the Mexican's penalty points expire, meaning he will enter the Qatar Grand Prix with only five penalty points.
