Carlos Sainz had a disappointing weekend in Australia. His race came to an early end after he also failed to hit the mark in qualifying on Saturday. He himself describes the race as "one of the most disappointing races" in his Formula 1 career.
At the start, the Spaniard lost many places, then spun, ending his race early. This puts an end to his run of three consecutive podium finishes, seventeen consecutive points finishes and 31 consecutive races without a DNF.

Sainz draws motivation from disappointing weekend

Meanwhile, he sees his teammate Charles Leclerc disappearing on the horizon. After the race, Sainz discussed the setback with AS.com. "It was a weekend that seemed to be going better, where I felt better in the car and could do good laps, but it turned into one of my most disappointing grand prix weekends in F1," he explained.
Nevertheless, he is not going to let it get him down. He emphasizes that there are still twenty races to go and that in that time anything can happen. He sees the disappointing weekend as a motivation to do better in the coming races.
