Although things went fine for Carlos Sainz on track at the Italian Grand Prix, the evening still ended on a sour note for the Spaniard. In the centre of Milan, the Ferrari driver was robbed of his watch around 8.30 pm. The perpetrators then fled with the Formula 1 driver's loot.

According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the perpetrators have now been caught. "The two criminals were apprehended in the via Montenapoleone (luxury shopping street in Milan), where police intervened within minutes," the medium explained. "The thieves were taken to the police station, while Sainz and his companion - after recovering the valuable loot - were escorted by police back to the hotel, where they filed a report."
Off track, it was anything but an ideal situation, but on track, on the other hand, it was good for Sainz. He was started from pole, but failed to keep the blazingly fast Red Bulls behind him. However, he did manage to parry several attacks by teammate Charles Leclerc. Sainz scored more points than Leclerc and thus remains above him in the world championship.
