Blockbuster Drive to Survive is a widely known phenomenon in the Formula 1 world. The Netflix series has encouraged many viewers to watch the top motorsport class. World champion Nico Rosberg, however, wouldn't have been a fan if it came out in 2016.
Five seasons of the series have already been released. The series discusses the ins and outs of the Formula 1 world. In 2017, Liberty Media came up with the idea of procuring a series. The first season was released in March 2019, and one has been released yearly. Yet Rosberg wouldn't have wanted it in 2016.

Rosberg had thought the Netflix series was terrible

"No, no, no, that would be horrible," the 2016 world champion told City A.M. "That would have been horrible because it would have taken concentration away from me actually winning the championship. That would have been a disaster," the German commented.
"What F1 did so well with Netflix is that it’s a reality TV show. They got lucky that select individuals like Guenther Steiner [Haas team principal] or some of the team bosses really accepted to be real, even taking the risks associated with that," concluded the former Mercedes driver.
