Ricciardo wants to impress right away: 'That my arrival made a difference'

Daniel Ricciardo has been able to practice in his new McLaren MCL35M, but will have to race in Bahrain. The Australian is full of confidence and wants to achieve great things with his new team.

Ricciardo caused quite a surprise in 2020, by leaving for McLaren. The Australian had seen enough (or not) at Renault and chose to make the switch to McLaren in 2021. There Ricciardo still has to get used to the car, but the team already feels very good.

''I think we're third as a team, and if we're not then we're at least in the rent. It may sound cliché, but you really notice that this team has momentum," Ricciardo said at the press conference. The Australian doesn't notice much difference with Renault, but hopes to leave more of a mark at McLaren.
