Australia, the home country of Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, is suffering from major forest fires. With hot temperatures and windy conditions, the fires are extremely difficult to tackle. The Renault driver has posted a message on his Instagram asking for anyone to donate to help support the fight against the fires.
As a result of the fires, many Australians have been forced to evacuate and relocate. It has cost the lives of people as well as over 500 million wild animals. Rain fell over the area this week, but the New South Wales state Premier said there's "no room for complacency".
"As you know, Australia is dealing with huge forest fires on this. If you can lose something, please donate. There are charities such as the Australian Red Cross and WIRES that are committed to animals. I have already donated and please do the same," Ricciardo asks via a call on Instagram.

Ricciardo to auction race suit

In addition to donating, Ricciardo himself will also ensure that money comes in that will then be given to charity. "I'm also going to auction my race overall that I had on during the Australian Grand Prix and the proceeds go to charities."
