Nick Chester, technical director of Renault, believes his team have fixed an issue which has been damaging for the French manufacturer in the early part of 2018. Drivers Hulkenberg and Sainz have experienced oversteer in high-speed corners.
Renault are currently leading the ‘best of the rest’ competition holding 4th place in the constructors' championship. But it’s believed this fix could help them cement this place.
“We struggle with a little bit of high-speed understeer and you go to Barcelona and that’s going to be hard,” said Chester.
“We knew it would be a problem, and we’ve got a few bits coming for that kind of circuit in the second half of the season.
“We’ve got a fair idea [of the solution], it’s just waiting for the specific parts that are going to help us, and they’re due around Montreal-time.”

On a track like Montreal, it’ll be important to remove this issue. The circuit holds many challenging corners and turns at speed!
