A little under the 30-minute mark, the FP1 session for the Italian Grand Prix was halted with a red flag, mandating all cars to return to the pits.
Isack Hadjar ran wide with his VCABR02 Racing Bulls car at the Ascari section of the track, bringing loads of gravel onto the tarmac and making it dangerous for drivers to go through the high speed and twisty section.
Soon after that, Race Direction decided to halt the session and to bring the marshalls in to clean up the track.

Leclerc under investigation

Charles Leclerc was making his way through Curva Grande, prior to the second chicane, and as the red flag came out, he encountered himself behind a Sauber car.

The Monegasque overtook the Swiss-based team's car under red flag conditions, which is not allowed under the current regulations. As such the matter was referred to the Stewards.
However, shortly after the incident, the case was dismissed by the race officials under a 'no investigation necessary' statement.
