Christian Horner still believes Max Verstappen can clinch his fifth F1 world title in a row. According to the British team principal, Red Bull can take advantage of the McLaren drivers also fighting against each other.
McLaren are currently the team to beat in Formula 1, with their two drivers sitting in the first two positions in the drivers' standings. After his victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, Lando Norris only trails Oscar Piastri by three points in the standings.
"Well, look, we’ve got to make sure we keep in touch. And to beat them, we've got to start taking points off them. Imola was strong for us. Monaco wasn’t a strong race for us," Horner said about Verstappen's chances at the FIA's press conference.
"They are the car to beat. They've got two strong drivers, and the car's performing very well," he continued.
While the two drivers, Norris and Piastri end up fighting against each other, Verstappen is the only contender Red Bull Racing have at this moment. "So, it's down to us to make improvements and get performance on the car over this summer part of the championship and make sure that we hang on to their coattails before the summer break and try and build a bit of momentum," the British team principal concluded.
