Why Rosberg compares 'Verstappen's F1 driving magic' to an art form

Max Verstappen had an overall good first day of on-track action in Barcelona finishing P2 and P3 in FP1 and FP2 respectively. Sky analyst and former F1 champion, saw managed to catch a glimpse into how good the Dutchman really is.

The current ground effect rules have made F1 cars inherently show level of understeer which manifests itself when in slow corners. It's also no secret that Red Bull Racing's RB21 has also suffered from this, with Verstappen often openly complaining about the car's behaviour.

Verstappen's 'art-like' driving prowess doesn't go unnoticed at Spanish GP

Rosberg, in the Sky Sports broadcast was highly complimentary of the Dutchman: "I saw the Max Verstappen magic out there [...] he drowns out the understeer and makes it quite an oversteery car," said the former F1 champion.

However, that is only one piece of the Verstappen magic 'puzzle'.

"Then every other driver would have massive snaps and go really rally style, but he's able to keep that oversteer in a very narrow window. It's like a work of art."

In recent days, former F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone was also highly complimentary of Verstappen, and went on to say he believed he was out of reach for his F1 colleagues.
