Honda believe their current engine will not need huge amounts of adjusting improving the chances of a more reliable power unit for Red Bull.
Honda are supplying Red Bull for the first time in 2019 after supplying their junior team Toro Rosso in 2018 and are hoping that with as few changes as possible they’ll avoid a repeat of their 2017 season with McLaren.
McLaren are doing the opposite to switching from Honda to Renault who ended their partnership with Red Bull last year.
In recent times it has been rumoured that development for their 2019 PU has hit a snag but Red Bull remain confident about their power for the new season.
"We can carry over the current design, or concept, of PU," Toyoharu Tanabe told Motorsport.

"We don't know exactly [what the limit is] because we haven't achieved a high level but we started with another concept and changed it for 2017.
"We learned something earlier, then changed it.
"In 2018, we carried over this concept and improved reliability and performance," Added the Honda technical director.
"At the moment we think this concept change is not wrong.
"It's suitable, still, we [intend to] carry over this concept and try to improve."
