Ralf Schumacher believes Lewis Hamilton appears to be struggling with his new team Ferrari, while Charles Leclerc is performing strongly. Last year, the battle for the Constructors’ Championship was close between McLaren and Ferrari. However, after fifteen races in 2025, the Italian squad sits 324 points behind the leaders, and just 12 points ahead of Mercedes.
The season has also been plagued by issues with race engineers, qualifying sessions, and retirements. In particular, Lewis Hamilton seems far from his former form at the team, although in recent Grands Prix—especially at Zandvoort before the incident—he has shown he can keep pace with his teammate better than he could at the start of the season.

Schumacher on Leclerc and Hamilton at Ferrari
There were suggestions that both Hamilton and Leclerc were having a disastrous season, but Schumacher said on the Boxengasse podcast that the Monegasque has actually delivered some strong performances: "I have to say, I don't agree. Claiming both are not bringing as much joy isn't correct.''
''I think that Charles Leclerc is maximising his output and also brings pleasure with pole positions and other results, but with the materials he has."
In Zandvoort, the team had to process a double DNF during the race: "Ferrari is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes they have problems getting the tires to work or they realize too late which direction they should go in. Monza is of course something special, there the car in Italy always lifts the whole thing a bit higher. I'm curious."
