Berger warns Vettel: ''He shouldn't make that mistake and go through hell''

Sebastian Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of 2020 and would like to continue in Formula 1. However, the question is how much, because even for the four-time world champion, a spot among the top teams doesn't seem to be a thing of the past.
"He shouldn't make the mistake of going through hell with a team in midfield. That would be a real shame for Sebastian. But he's strong enough to make that decision himself. He has four world titles in his pocket and can go home in good health,'' said Gerhard Berger in conversation with ran.de.

Vettel dreams of Schumacher

Vettel's goal has always been to match his idol Michael Schumacher at Ferrari. After four world titles at a young age at Red Bull Racing, Vettel had plenty of time to break Schumacher's records, but at Ferrari he didn't want to succeed. Surprising, Berger thinks.
''I was really under the impression that he could make it with his German ambition and perseverance, but unfortunately he didn't succeed. The team and he have grown further and further apart over time'', the former Formula 1 driver concludes.
