Pirelli plans to test the new 18-inch tyres this year. This change will form part of the drastic alterations which Formula 1 will introduce in 2021.
Pirelli won a bidding battle with Hankook to continue to be Formula 1's only tyre supplier through to 2023. According to racefans, we'll see the new tyres on the track in the second half of the upcoming season.
It's currently unknown how Pirelli will test these tyres with the 2021 regulations yet to be complete.
Earlier in January, Pirelli announced the tyre compounds for the opening four races. While no major changes have been added to the tyre compound themselves, the names of the tyres will all be substituted for soft, medium and hard on race weekends.
