Piero Ferrari explains what you need to do to win in F1

Ferrari vice-chairman Piero Ferrari believes he knows what it will take for Ferrari to start winning titles again, despite there being such a big gap between them and Mercedes.

"To win you must have the best: the driver who does not make mistakes and who knows how to get 100% of the performance of the car, and also the car that gives 100% from the first moment to the last lap," The Ferrari vice-chairman told Motorsport.com.

"The team also, because the strategy is very important.

"Today there is such a tight competition that if you don't have the maximum of everything, you can't win.

"We've always been there, from the first F1 season to date and it's important to be there every year to try to win. I hope Ferrari, as a company, always keep your two souls."

Ferrari is 222 points behind the silver arrows, who secured a sixth consecutive constructors' title this season.
