Peter Nygaard, a correspondent for the Danish newspaper BT believes that McLaren 'lost focus' in 2018.
McLaren is one of the most successful Formula 1 team but in recent years things have taken a dismal turn for the worse.
Formula 1 correspondent Peter Nygaard has opened up on the reasons why McLaen had such a bad season.
"One of the reasons is that they lost focus," Nygaard said to onestopstrategy.
Peter Nygaard believes that McLaren were too greedy with their ambitions in 2018 which led to a poor performance.

"They wanted too much. They wanted to race at Indy, in GT racing, and so on. But formula one must be their core focus."
"When you're a big team and you start losing in the way they did, you start to blame each other, and internal disputes arose all through the team," he said.
McLaren have implemented a new management system to try and get back to winning ways in 2019.
