SportPesa Racing Point F1 driver Sergio Pérez is excited for his team's new season, as the Mexican aims to be best of the rest again in his sixth year at what used to be Force India.
Pérez, who's accumulated eight podiums throughout his F1 career (that's more than you think isn't it, or is that just us?), was part of the Force India team that secured fourth place in the constructors' championship in back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017 despite having the smallest budget on the grid.
With the new Lawrence Stroll-led ownership, the budget increase is seismic, meaning the expectations are high for Racing Point. Pérez, for one, simply hopes to get back into P4 again.
“I’m really excited to stay with this team as we begin the new era," the Mexican told Racing Point's official website.
"We have stability and strong leadership at the top, which is important because it means I can simply focus on the driving and performance.
