For the first time since Michael Schumacher did so in 1997, a Ferrari was doing laps in a black livery as Sergio Perez completed a historic TPC test for Cadillac.
The 11th team on the Formula 1 grid, Cadillac, is set to join the competition in the upcoming season. The team already announced Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez as its full-time drivers for next season, while American driver Colton Herta will be the team’s test driver while also competing in Formula 2.

While Bottas remains Mercedes' third driver until the end of the season and will complete his duties for the German team, 'Checo' already said during his home Grand Prix that he would complete Cadillac's first-ever two-day TPC (testing of previous car) event at Imola driving the Ferrari SF-23.
The test took place for training purposes rather than for development, with the Scuderia also set to supply the team with power units and gearboxes until 2028. Cadillac aims to introduce its power units for the 2029 campaign.
The first images of the test have now been posted on social media.
