The Mexican is set to embark on his fifteenth season in Formula 1, returning to the pinnacle of the sport after a year away from the grid following his departure from Red Bull at the end of 2024 and a 2025 campaign spent on the sidelines.
Speaking as a guest on the Cracks podcast for Oso Trava, Perez said he hopes to bring his career to a close by helping drive the growth of the Cadillac project.
“This will definitely be my final chapter. I’d love to retire with Cadillac, leaving it behind as a strong force in Formula 1 — one of the major teams.”

That resurgence was ultimately short-lived, as a collision with Carlos Sainz in the closing laps abruptly ended his challenge. From the following race onwards, he once again struggled to unlock the potential of the RB20.
Speaking on the same podcast, the Mexican looked back on that weekend.
