Perez furious over team radio: 'Ocon's such an idiot!'

Sergio Perez was furious with Esteban Ocon after the end of sprint qualifying in Austria. The Frenchman drove slower than necessary, preventing the Mexican from setting a fast lap. Perez clearly showed his dissatisfaction over the board radio.

Ocon did not make any friends in Austria. Well Perez and Ocon were already not the best of friends after their time together at Racing Point, but that did not improve. In the third part of sprint qualifying, Ocon slowed down so badly that Perez had to complete his fastest lap within half a second of Ocon. That did not turn out to be a success.

"I have no idea what he was doing," Perez was heard saying over the team radio. "I don't know why Ocon left 14 seconds." Perez was then told by his engineer that Charles Leclerc had not been able to put a lap down at all, but Perez did not really seem to take that into account at all. "Yeah, who cares man? This guy is such an idiot."
