Perez believes "the platform fits" at Racing Point

Sergio Perez has signed a three-year contract extension with Racing Point and the Mexican is happy with how the team are going and expects the team to be much more positive next season.

Perez secured a tenth place finish in the final drivers' standings in 2019, on 52 points.

"Because the team is now stable, the platform fits," Perez told Auto Motorsport.

"I hope that in 2020 we will not only attack McLaren but will also be significantly closer to the top teams.

"I get the motivation from doing more, getting more out of the package than what is actually in it. Sometimes I get a tenth, but I know that I was as good as the first.

"The difference is in the car. I want to grow beyond myself. That is my motivation."
