The track was crowded during qualifying for the Monaco GP. Even in Q3 with only ten cars left in the race, Sergio Perez was bothered by the other drivers. It contributed to his crash. Perez finds it very unfortunate.

Perez baulks at himself and other drivers

With only thirty seconds left on the clock, Perez hit the wall. The car was damaged and a red flag seemed inevitable. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz did not see the Mexican and crashed as well. The session was immediately flagged off and Charles Leclerc took pole. Perez tells Viaplay what exactly happened:
"It's unfortunate. I knew that lap was very important, but the out lap was very bad and people didn't respect the flags. I almost lost it in Turn 1, but then the tires didn't pick it up either. A big shame". Perez sounds aware of the mistakes he made himself but is also frustrated with the crowds on the track. The Mexican is expected to start from the second row of the grid along with teammate Max Verstappen behind the Ferrari's.
