Racing Point is expecting a "different car" to drive in Melbourne for the opening race of the season, insisted its driver Sergio Perez.
Perez was the second quickest in Wednesday's testing session in Barcelona, only just behind McLaren driver Carlos Sainz, who set the pace for the day.
With fresh investment mid-way through last season from Lawrence Stroll and additional sponsorship, the rebranded team is planning numerous changes to try and force its way up the "midfield" in 2019.
Speaking to Crash.net, Perez revealed the team is aiming for more mileage ahead of the start of the new season in less than a month's time.
"We expect quite a different car in Melbourne, so the more understanding the better," Perez said. "We need a bit more mileage in these final two days for the team to get more of an idea of where we really at.

"We are learning a lot every day and not just when I am driving, but also when Lance (Stroll) is driving. We are understanding the car and heading in the right direction."
Stroll will have big pressure on him this season, after replacing the talented Esteban Ocon; who had a brilliant season last term.
