Oscar Piastri clinched victory at the Dutch Grand Prix; however, it was his teammate’s engine failure that appeared to steal the spotlight. The Australian driver, however, extended a heartfelt message to Lando Norris following his win.
The 24-year-old, who secured the ninth win of his career, witnessed what would have been a late showdown with Norris fail to materialise after the British driver suffered an engine failure and an oil leak. Sharing his thoughts on the incident, Piastri said during his post-race media interaction:
“It feels good, obviously. I controlled the race when I needed to, and obviously it was incredibly unfortunate for Lando at the end."
“But I felt like I was in control of that one and just used the pace when I needed to. That was a bit of a different race compared to 12 months ago, so I’m very happy with all the work we’ve done to try to improve around here, and very satisfied to come out on top."

Oscar Piastri was also pleased with his start to the final leg of the season with his win at the Dutch Grand Prix. The championship leader led every lap at the Dutch dunes and extended his lead to 34 points over his nearest challenger, Lando Norris.
“Starting out on top is a good way to go, so if we can keep it running, that would be great, but there’s a long way to go yet. Keep doing it one race at a time.”
