Nurburgring want a permanent place on the calendar: 'Under these conditions'

The Grand Prix of the Eifel was a great success last weekend. That is why the Nurburgring wants to make a strong case for a permanent place on the calendar.
After seven years of waiting, Formula 1 finally returned to the Nurburgring last weekend. The race disappeared from the calendar after 2013 because no profit was made. This should be different in the event of a possible return. In 2020 the German circuit turned no loss, says spokesman Alexander Gerhard.

Worth the effort

"In the final reckoning, it had proved economically worthwhile for us. This also applies in terms of communication, of course, because we showed that the Nurburgring can set up such an event within ten weeks", said Gerhard in an interview with Motorsport.com.
The circuit would now like to get a permanent place on the Formula 1 calendar. For that they have one important goal: no more running losses. "We have yet to see whether it will be possible to return to Formula 1 under that condition. If it is possible to keep Formula 1 back under the conditions we set, then we would like to do that", continues Gerhard.
