Kimi Raïkkonen quit his
Formula 1 career at the end of last season. The Finnish driver was certainly not known as a person who talked a lot, as
Lando Norris noticed in the period he experienced the simple world champion. Both men even had hardly any contact with each other.
Raikkonen was back in
Formula 1 from 2001 to 2009 and 2012 to 2021. In 2007, he experienced his most successful season with
Ferrari by taking his only world championship. It is still the last world title for the Italian racing stable, who will be on top after three races with
Charles Leclerc in 2022.
Norris rarely spoke to Raikkonen
In addition to his talent for motor racing, Raikkonen was known as a quiet driver who rarely made spectacular statements in the media. Behind the scenes, the Finn was not outspoken either, Norris tells us. In fact, the
McLaren driver barely spoke with the world champion.
"I never spoke to Kimi," Norris tells us in an interview on
Quadrant's YouTube channel.
"In three years of racing in Formula 1, I don’t think I ever said a word to him. So I miss watching Kimi, I miss his interviews and that side, but apart from that, no."
