Renault will be running an untested set-up at the British Grand Prix in a bid to try and become more competitive. Nico Hulkenberg reveals that there are no updates to the car but the team will be taking a different approach as they try to optimize their car to the Silverstone circuit.
“No updates,” Hulkenberg said to Motorsport.com. "But we’re trying different stuff with the set-up, how we run the car compared to previous weeks, a different starting point, but also different across the cars, to cover a lot of bases.
"We’re trying to exploit more of the set-up envelope in the car. We’re going to something that we haven’t run basically so far this year. No new bits, just the set-up is different.”
The French team will be hoping that this extreme approach could unlock the performance of their car. They know that their engine is competitive as they see the McLaren ahead of them and will be hoping to get the better of them this weekend.
