New electronic parts for Leclerc at Belgian Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc was unable to complete the Spanish Grand Prix after suddenly losing power in the chicane just ahead of the straight. He then ended up in a spin and disengaged his seatbelt because he didn't expect to be able to go any further. However, he got the car running again and drove to the pits, but his race was over. Ferrari has now discovered the cause of the problem.

"In Barcelona, we paid a high price for a lack of reliability, and in fact we have now identified the problem with the electronic control unit that caused Charles’ retirement," said Enrico Gualtiere, the head of the engine department at Ferrari in the preview at next weekend's race.

However, Ferrari has been struggling with the car all season, as they clearly can't keep up with the top. "But we also suffered from not maximising our qualifying performance, which put us in a difficult situation in the race."

In order to prevent Leclerc from having to deal with ECU problems again, he will get new electronic parts for his power source this weekend. He won't get a penalty for this, but he is at the limit of what he can use in a season.
