Mick Schumacher has won the European Formula 3 championship after finishing second in race two of three at the Euro F3 finale at Hockenheim. The German was forced to wait after a collision in race one prevented him from wrapping the title up at the first time of asking but made sure in race two.
Son of the sports most decorated driver Michael, Mick beat Red Bull junior driver and Toro Rosso hopeful Dan Ticktum to the championship crown after a turnaround in form left the Brit scrambling for answers he couldn't conjure up and taking the title by adding another podium finish to an already very strong season.
Notching up eight wins including a memorable sweep at the Nurburgring, Schumacher only had to prevent dropping 15 points to his title rival Ticktum in the final race on Saturday, having failed to score in the opening race due to a collision early on in.
Rumours that Schumacher could be in line for an F2 or even an F1 seat have picked up along with his momentum this season, and all eyes will be on F2 next year if he does indeed find a seat in the series.
