Ferrari has gone aggressive for it's tyre selection for the Singapore Grand Prix whereas their title rivals Mercedes look a lot more conservative in comparison. Pirelli will bring the hypersoft, ultrasoft and soft tyres to the race around the Marina Bay Circuit.
For just the third time this season, the hypersoft tyre will be in use and Ferrari look like they will be making the most of it, bringing nine sets for both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen compared to Mercedes' six sets for their drivers. They will also be bringing just three sets of the ultrasoft and only one set of soft tyres for both of their drivers in a big contrast to Mercedes' plans.
Both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will bring four sets of ultrasofts and three sets of soft tyres along with their six sets of hypersofts, a much more conservative strategy, bringing with them the least amount of hypersoft tyres of all the teams.
Only Force India and Haas have matched the nine sets of hypersofts that Ferrari will bring, the rest of the grid seemingly split on bringing seven or eight sets of the softest compound available.
Practice will be very interesting to gauge what race tyre is preferable, with Ferrari making the mistake at Monza to not run the soft tyre until the race, suffering from huge amounts of blistering as a result.
Whether the street circuit will provide the same circumstances as in Italy remains unlikely due to the big steps in compounds with the supersoft absent from the list of available compounds.
