Lewis Hamilton could have a shot at winning his home race at Silverstone. But according to former F1 world champion, Jenson Button, Max Verstappen cannot be ruled out either. At the end of FP2 it was Lando Norris who prevailed among the rest of the drivers with a healthy margin to P2 placed man Charles Leclerc. Three and nearly five tenths separated Hamilton and Verstappen from the
McLaren British driver.
Ferrari and Verstappen negate McLaren's advantage
Despite the substantial gaps Button notes that both of them can indeed be in the fray for the win at Silverstone. Speaking to Sky Sports the former F1 champion said as much.
"I have been watching the times from Oscar, Lando, Lewis, Charles and Max and all the times seem pretty similar. So it doesn't seem like McLaren have a massive advantage."
Brown: Ferrari look very strong
McLaren team boss
Zak Brown agreed with the former F1 driver turned analyst.
"The Ferraris look very strong over one lap and race pace. A little early, but Ferrari look very tough."
