Helmut Marko insists Formula 1's proposed budget cap is still a long way from being finalised. The budget cap forms part of an array of changes coming into the sport in 2021.
"We are still a long way from an agreement. Basically, we are with Ferrari and Mercedes in terms of the number but the other teams remain very critical, but nothing is clear because we still have to discuss which departments of a racing team are covered by the budget cap," Marko told Auto Bild.
The latest news to leak is a budget cap roadmap. This will see the budget reduce every year. Starting in 2021 at $180 million and ending in 2023 with a budget of $130 million.
Wherever they stand, the teams will be desperate to confirm something soon. Plans need to be made.
