After Christian Horner, Helmut Marko has now responded to reports that Red Bull Racing would have exceeded its budget cap in 2021. The Austrian is not worried at all but finds it surprising that this information has been made public.
Red Bull Racing denied in a statement on Friday morning the rumour that the team had significantly exceeded the budget cap. Speaking to Sky Sports, Horner also revealed that he is not aware of any violation.
"This is an ongoing procedure. We are only getting the details and cannot say anything about it at the moment. We are not worried that anything serious could happen," Marko tells ORF.

Marko surprised by public information

Speaking to Sky Germany, Marko adds that he is not worried. From the team's point of view, the limit has not been exceeded. However, the Red Bull adviser does find it surprising that this information has been made public. According to Marko, the FIA does not know how this information was leaked, but it could indeed be damaging to Red Bull's reputation.
