Marko: "If that works, then there are chances that we can overtake"

Helmut Marko hopes Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez can attack Ferrari. The Austrian stresses that it will be important to stay in Charles Leclerc's DRS in sectors one and three. If they can do that, the Red Bull drivers can go for an overtake.

"It's already three or four degrees hotter than it was yesterday and no clouds. The right tyre management with the right speed will make sure you're winning. We have to stay within the DRS zone in sector one and three. If that works, then there are chances that we can overtake", Marko tells Viaplay.

Leclerc will have to fight Verstappen and Leclerc alone, as Carlos Sainz will start at the back of the grid following his penalties. On Friday, Verstappen's race simulation looked promising, but in the hot weather at Paul Ricard everything can change.

"His long run [Perez'] was good, it was also nearer to Max. But we don't know. Leclerc didn't have the best set-up on Friday, and also not Saturday morning. But in qualifying he was there. It depends what speeds they are going. Can we follow? Can we attack? We will try everything to win here", Marko adds in conversation with Sky Sports.
