Marko analyses Mercedes: 'They were driving at full power'

Max Verstappen finished third in the second free practice session, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Sergio Perez only finished eighth. Helmut Marko tells us more about the problems at Red Bull Racing.

Verstappen himself indicated that there are problems between the different tyre compounds. The difference between the medium and soft tyre was big, causing problems with the balance. According to Marko, the temperature of the tyres is not right. Whether there is a solution? "We think we know," he told Sky Germany.

Verstappen was still the fastest man on track during FP1, but according to Marko, the difference in balance between FP1 and FP2 was very big. Nevertheless, he is not worried.

Marko expects that the team can repair the problems tomorrow. The Red Bull advisor doesn't believe that Mercedes is much faster than Red Bull."Bottas did a few fast laps, but that was with full power," Marko said.
