Mark Webber knows how hard it is for young drivers to develop top quality motorsport experience in countries like Australia and New Zealand. He is set to come in and provide bridges to make this challenge a little easier for the next generation.
The current New Zealand Formula E driver Mitch Evans has Webber to thank after he helped him fulfil his dream. The former Red Bull driver offered Evans to a place to stay in Webber's house to support his first years in motorsport.
"It is not an easy step that you take if you live in our part of the world," Mark Webber told The Sun.
"You have no family in the neighbourhood, and everyone you know lives thousands of miles away from you. If you come from mainland Europe, it is a lot simpler, since you can be back home in no time. That's why it seemed so nice to me to help Mitch on those fronts where I experienced problems."
