Kimi Raikkonen has become embroiled in a sexual assault case dating back to 2016. The Ferrari driver is alleged to have assaulted a waitress however Raikkonen's lawyers have filed a counterclaim for blackmail and harassment.
The woman in question wrote on her blog back in 2016 about the event, however never explicitly named Raikkonen in the initial post, only threatening him with blackmail asking for a seven-figure sum to not go public.
“When I leaned over the table, he put his hand in my clothes and grabbed my right breast. At the same time, one of his companions caught my pants and touched my genitals.”
Mathieu Piche-Messier, Raikkonen's lawyer stated, “Our client denies everything he is accused of and makes it clear that everything this woman does is illegal.”
Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne said during a Capital Markets Day that his driver had the full support of Ferrari.

“We investigated the case internally and know that Kimi is not involved. We stand behind him and ready to defend him at all costs.”
