Magnussen: "Everyone only says what is right for them"

One of the questions that remain ahead of next season is whether Formula 1 will vote on whether to stick with the 2019 tyres in 2020. Kevin Magnussen believes the rule makers should just pick the best tyre for the best racing.

One thing Haas have struggled with this season has been getting their tyres to work properly but they hope to have the issue solved by the end of this season. However, a change of tyres could once again set the team back again in 2020.

As the 2019 season reaches its conclusion this weekend, Magnussen has voiced his opinion on the tyre issue and he believes it is hard to take drivers' and team bosses' opinions into the matter.

“I think it is very difficult to take the opinions of drivers and team bosses into account when making a choice, since everyone has their own agenda," Magnussen told RaceFans.

The Dane believes there should be a focus on what is best for racing and not that of the preference of the drivers.

“Ultimately, it is the same tire that everyone must use. Formula 1 should simply choose the band that delivers the best show, nothing more," he added.
