To say that Max Verstappen reacted with frustration at seeing the red flags during the final session of qualifying in Monaco is perhaps the understatement of the weekend. Seeing his pole lap end, the Dutchman couldn't help but rant over the onboard radio. Watch the footage below, and listen to the excerpt.

Verstappen's response over the team radio is straightforward. 'This had been the lap,' he says, amid a creative array of profanities. 'This really pisses me off'

Leclerc's crash brought an early end to Q3 on the street circuit. With it, Leclerc secured his pole position, taking the wind out of the sails of both Verstappen and Bottas, who were both improving.

Despite this, the people at Red Bull's pit wall know that all is not lost. They reassure the Dutchman: 'Could be a chassis change for Leclerc, and we have Hamilton on P7.' Nothing is lost yet for the Dutchman in Monaco, but the frustration was definitely there. And don't get him wrong.
