Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz got into their cars this week to prepare for the new season. The Monegasque was amazed by the many fans standing along the track to welcome them.
The new regulations make it more important than ever for teams this season to prepare well for the season ahead. Ferrari hopes to rejoin Mercedes and Red Bull Racing in the coming months at the front, but are still in a competitive battle with McLaren.
Leclerc got into the car on Thursday afternoon and enjoyed the moment. "Our fans are special," Leclerc stressed in conversation with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Today is really cold, but they didn't want to miss this first appointment of the new season. At least I had the bike to keep me warm, but they were really great!"
Ferrari has big ambitions for 2022

With Sainz and Leclerc, the Italian team seems to have a strong duo on the grid again. Both drivers managed to finish fifth and seventh respectively in the World Championship in 2021, keeping the team in front of McLaren. Lando Norris finished between the two Ferrari drivers.
