Charles Leclerc has established himself as a talented driver since beginning his Formula One career with Sauber this year, scoring points three times, compared to team mate Marcus Ericsson’s one.
Leclerc, part of the Ferrari academy has proven himself to be a good prospect, showing maturity and skill battling with the experienced two-time champion Fernando Alonso on multiple occasions.
However, it did take a few races until Leclerc showed what he was made of, something he puts down to the big gap between F2 and F1.
Leclerc dominated on his way to the F2 title last season and said: “Even being in this sport since I was three, I did not expect that jump to be so big.
“The amount of procedures and changes in driving style, just everything, is a whole step forward.

“It was difficult for me at the beginning. Maybe what I would have wished is to understand the car a bit quicker, but two races, let's say three races, to learn completely the car is not huge.
"If I could have changed something that's the thing I would have changed."
