Latifi not worried by rumors: 'Am just as fast as Albon'

Nicholas Latifi states that there is nothing true about the rumours of a possible departure. The Canadian let it be known at Le Journal de Montreal that one should not pay attention to these rumors.
Latifi is already under considerable pressure after four races in 2022. The Canadian already crashed several times in the first race weekends of this season. In addition to the damage he has caused his car (and his team), his speed is also underwhelming. Where his poorer performance compared to George Russell was dismissed as 'a smaller difference than people think', he is now also being driven around the ears by his new teammate Alexander Albon.

Pressure on Latifi

''You shouldn't pay attention to everything that is written about me,'' the Williams driver let it be known before the race weekend in Miami. There are several rumours surrounding Latifi. Williams would consider replacing him with Oscar Piastri at the end of 2023, but there are also sources who knew that a change will possibly take place as early as 2022.
For now, Latifi is not worried and knows what he needs to work on. ''It's a matter of confidence. I'm sure I can drive as fast as Alexander, but he has adapted faster to this new car.'' Jost Capito, the Williams team boss, also already dismissed the rumours.
