Lando Norris will drive McLaren's most successful Formula 1 car this weekend at the Goodwood festival of speed. The McLaren M23 managed to compete in six F1 seasons and was the car that won Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt their world championships.

The car made its debut in 1973, driving in 80 races. It won 16 of these races and was driven by 16 different drivers.

In just its fifth race, it won a Grand Prix. The car won it's first World Championship at the 1974 US Grand Prix. By the time it retired in 1978, it was still finishing inside the top 10.

McLaren junior driver took to Twitter confirming how good he felt about being given the job. You can watch the action unfold on Sky Sports F1 on Sunday 15th July.

Lando Norris is currently 2nd in the F2 championship behind fellow British driver George Russel. Both drivers are pushing their way towards F1 seats next season.
