Norris goes against McLaren order and gives Piastri victory in Qatar

Lando Norris gave his victory to Oscar Piastri at the sprint race in Qatar. Throughout the sprint race, the world championship number two was fastest, but on the last lap, Norris gifted his victory to the Australian. This was despite his team telling him not to do it.

Piastri had a good start to the sprint race. He was faster away than George Russell, who started from the front row. Throughout the race, Piastri was under pressure from Russell, who seemed just a little faster than the McLaren driver. With Norris leaving Piastri in his DRS all the time, the driver with number 81 on the car was able to keep Russell behind this way.

Norris asked the team over the team radio if he was on the last lap. McLaren knew what time it was when Norris asked this. The team told Norris to finish in that order. Norris thought otherwise and decided to give the win to his teammate.
