Kvyat is confident AlphaTauri have made "some progress" through winter break

Daniil Kvyat believes his car has improved over the winter break after completing the first week of F1 testing in Barcelona. On the combined timesheets, Kvyat placed his AlphaTauri in seventh place in a compact midfield.

Particularly during the first week, testing times are almost impossible to get a real indication of pace and performance because it's unclear exactly what runs each team are doing. But Kvyat is confident progress has been made.

"We had a lot of high-quality tests and tried to cover as many laps as we could, so we did well in that respect. Now we need to analyse everything and work on more tests to be ready for next week. The car feels like it’s in the ballpark and we’re still fine-tuning it like everyone else is, but the initial feeling is we’ve made some progress compared to last year," he said.
