Williams endured a season to forget last year where they only accumulated seven points throught the championship, 26 points behind second-last Toro Rosso.
The team has changed their driver line up for 2019, replacing
Lance Stroll who is at
Racing Point with F2 Champion
George Russell, and promoting Kubica to a drivers seat in pace of
Sergey Sirotkin.
Speaking at a press conference in which
Williams and Orlen announced a partnership Kubica said,
"The situation of Williams is not easy. I’m very cautious and realistic. In winter every team is building a new car. We are also building a new car, we're finishing its production,” F1Network.net.
"The design of the car is very important and it’s very difficult to make up [for a bad car]. The team has drawn conclusions from its mistakes last year, so I think that's going to make things easier for us.”
