Jordan criticises current generation of cars: 'Shame on who allowed that'

The founder of Jordan Grand Prix and former team principal, Eddie Jordan believes the current generation of cars are a 'shame'. The Irishman also believes that Formula One has hit the point of no return in that regard.

Many fans of the competition often find themselves reminiscing about the engines, such as the V10s, and how the cars looked back in the day. Eddie Jordan, who had his team in the competition from 1991 until 2005, is one of them.

In his podcast together with David Coulthard, Formula for Success, the Irishman called out the people responsible for the current generation of cars. According to him, not even great performances by drivers can make up for that. "I mean these cars, and let’s be fair to Lewis and to Max, and Lando, and what they’re doing, unbelievable jobs with these cars. But they’re tractors. They are tractors. They’re a 1000kg, massively overweight," he explained.

"Shame on the regulations. Shame on the organisers. And shame on the people who have Formula 1 deeply buried in their soul because they’ve allowed this sport in my opinion to go to a step, that may never come back from here. And I absolutely hate them for it," Jordan then continued.

In 2025, the final season with the current cars awaits the teams and the drivers, which were first introduced in the 2022 season. Then, entering 2026, another regulation change will happen on the grid.
