Hamilton has '2027 option' contract clause in his deal with Ferrari?

Hamilton was especially disappointed on Saturday after Qualifying at the Hungaroring. Talking to Sky Sports then, he said: "I'm useless, absolutely useless. The team have no problem. You've seen the car's on pole. So we probably need to change driver."

The Italian newspaper wrote in its story that the seven-time world champion has a special clause in his contract, marking in 'controversial'.

Hamilton signed a multi-year contract that lasts until the end of 2026. That also includes an option to extend for 2027.

This would mean the Briton's future is in his own hands, rather than the decision being up to the Italian team.

So far this season, Hamilton is yet to stand on the podium. He came closest at his home Grand Prix in Silverstone, where he finished in P4.

On the other hand, in China, the world champion managed to win his team's first ever Sprint. He also finished third at the same event in Miami.
